NEWS! For Immediate Release

Moltan Company announces price increase

The Moltan Company, a Division of EP Minerals announced today that it is implementing a 7% price increase on Clay and DE Absorbents to the Automotive Retail Segment effective July 1, 2013. The price increase is necessary to offset inflationary pressure in our business.  We are experiencing increased costs in mining, regulatory compliance, taxes, labor and benefits, ore and hauling costs, packaging, freight and logistics.

NEWS! EP Acquisition announcement

March 1, 2013

EP Minerals, LLC Acquires The Moltan Company, L.P.

I am very pleased to announce that EP Minerals today completed its acquisition of the assets of The Moltan Company, including their Fernley, Nevada diatomaceous earth (DE) operations, their Middleton, Tennessee montmorillonite clay operations, and their Memphis, TN headquarters.

Combining EP and Moltan will provide our customers with an unparalleled selection of top quality mineral absorbents and carriers based on both clay and diatomaceous earth (DE).  It will also increase supply security for all our absorbent DE customers, since we will be able to supply our DE products from two independent plants.

To facilitate an orderly transition over the next few months, we will continue to use the Moltan name for the acquired facilities and products.  The Moltan sales team will continue to serve Moltan’s customers, who should see very little change as we integrate our two companies. EP will slowly transition our Floor Dry™ and Solid-A-Sorb™ customers over to the Moltan sales team, thus providing each of them with the benefit of a highly experienced and dedicated absorbents salesperson.

We request that customers and suppliers continue to conduct business with EP and Moltan per your normal arrangements, and we will keep you informed of any changes as our integration proceeds.  Should you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to your normal EP or Moltan contact.

Our goal is to achieve a seamless integration of our companies, along with the continued flexibility, support, and care you have come to associate with EP Minerals and Moltan.

Best regards,

Dave Keselica
CEO
EP Minerals, LLC
